Are you 100% certain? . . .
Dear friend, I would like to share with you what the Word of God says about being 100 certain that you will go to heaven. I am not going to give you my opinion, but I am going to show you what God's Word says.
In I John 5:11-13, God's Word tells us that we can know for certain that we will go to heaven. This is what the Bible says starting at verse 11: And this is the record, that God hath given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the Son of God.
In that verse, God shows us that we can know 100% sure that we have eternal life and that life is in His Son Jesus. But first we must realize that we are sinners separated from God. God is a holy God and therefore cannot allow sin into heaven.
In Romans 3:10 the Word of God says: As it is written there is none righteous no, not one. - Friend, that means none of us is good enough or ever could be on our own. The reason we aren't righteous enough is because in Romans 3:23 the Bible says: For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. - Meaning all of us are sinners and come short of what God expects from us in our lives. Even though we do good deeds, our sin separates us from a holy God.
In Romans 6:23 the Bible says: For the wages of sin is death; (in other words, our wage refers to what we deserve, and what we deserve for our sin is death, this is not a physical death but it refers to a spiritual death - separation from God eternally) but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Friend, what this is saying is that God has a gift for us, that gift is His Son Jesus, Who came down from heaven as a gift for us to restore that fellowship with God that was lost with Adam. To again, have a personal relationship with our Creator. However, to explain this further, I want to give you an illustration. If I went to a store and purchased a gift for you, I paid for it and did everything to get it and wrapped it up as a gift to you and was handing it to you, when is that gift really yours? If I am still holding it, it is still in my control, but once you accept or receive that gift it is now yours and that is what God has for you, His Son, a gift of salvation to get to heaven. But you must personally accept this gift. This gift is free, it doesn't cost you anything, but it cost Him everything, that's true love for us all. A gift is something you cannot work for or even pay for, it is a gift but you must accept it to be truly yours.
There are a few questions I must ask:
1. Do you agree that you are a sinner? The Bible says that we all are. I John 1:8-10.
2. Do you realize that your sin separates you from God? Look back at Romans 5:12 if you do not realize this.
3. Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for you and rose again the third day?
Knowing this alone doesn't mean you will get to heaven, for even the devils believe in Jesus (James 2:19) but this is what the Bible says you need to do.
In Romans 10:9, God's Word says: That if thou shalt confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised Him from the dead thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness (notice this must be from your heart - meaning your whole being not your head as intellectually but with your heart) and with your mouth confession is made unto salvation.
And in Romans 10:13 the Word says: For whosoever (meaning you or me or anyone) shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
The way we call on the Lord is through prayer. If you would like to make a decision for Jesus Christ right now and know for sure that if you were to die today that you would have a home in heaven, and would acknowledge that our works will never be good enough, but it is what Jesus did on the cross as my basis for going to heaven, then pray right now. Don't wait, pray this prayer below and mean this from our heart. This is between you and God.
Dear Jesus, I realize I am a sinner. I ask your forgiveness for my sins. I ask that you come and live in my heart right now. I put my faith and trust in you and you alone for what you did on the cross for me. I thank you for saving me and preparing a place for me in heaven. Amen
If you just prayed that prayer of acceptance, and truly meant it from your heart, the angels in heaven are rejoicing (Luke 15:10) and so are we. Please contact us by phone or email. We would greatly appreciate it so we can continue to pray for you or help you with additional information and study guides.
This is the beginning of an exciting new life in Christ.
There are some exciting things that God just did for you and I would like to share that with you. In John Chapter 1:12, the Bible says But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.
When you put your trust in Christ, He said He will give you power to become the sons (or children) of God. This means God just adopted you into His family. You are His and not a child of wrath anymore Ephesians 2:1-3 but now a child of the living God.
And in Hebrews 13:5, God says He will never leave you nor forsake you. You noticed he said never.
And in John 10:28-29, the Bible says And I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand. My Father, which gave them Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand. Friend, you are sealed and nothing can pluck you out of His hand.
And now here are some steps to help you grow in the Lord as a new believer .......
Deal firmly with sin in your life. If you sin, you need to immediately confess your sin to God. In I John 1:9, God's Word says that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Then we must repent and turn from those sins.
Read your Bible daily. (Start in the book of John).
Pray daily about all your needs, desires and cares. Thank Him everyday for His goodness.
Go to church weekly (where the Bible is preached). You want to hear God's Word, not man's opinion. Tell others about Jesus. Is there anyone who would be happy to know that you accepted Christ? Tell them now!
